The narrative begins with Ah Nien who returns home due to an accident that caused severe injury to his head and suffers from memory loss and mental disorder. His father, mother and sister are using their own methods through religious, metaphysical or medical approach respectively in attempt to cure Ah Nien. But as each tries to do so, it intensifies the hidden conflicts among each of them until they exploded.

Through the different narration perspective from each character’s story, it illuminates a slightly different aspect and angle of the theme and to build a large picture than any single story.

Singing Tombstone explores the solitude and isolation that portrayed not as negative consequences but as an internal process of learning of each of the characters. It also the metaphor of breakdown and lost, failure of communication unresolved personal or imposed burden.

Singing Tombstone has a rather moderate tone and pace to critically analyze the film’s main subject and theme. This film is more appropriate with matured audience whom are more acquainted with artistic and philosophical films. The film will consciously run away from the mainstream narrative and tends to offer a fresher cinematic experience. This film will have a proximate visual expression to films from New Wave Cinema.
